Asus M4A87TD — "The Data in the EC or EC flash might be corrupted"

Попалась мамка с необычным глюком — инициализация BIOS останавливается с сообщением
The data in the EC or EC flash might be corrupted
Please contact Asus Technical Support for help
Fatal Error. System halted.

[Sabertooth 990FX] WIN 10 related?! —The data in the EC or EC flash might be corrupted — BIOS? (Update)

Update: see post 2 and 3 for more info and some narrowing this down.
It looks like i can trigger the error by turning of hibernate/quickboot.

EDIT2: Okay very, very weird. But i managed to fix it by doing a clean install.
So far so good. Yet I'm still interested in your guys ideas on the problem. Maybe it is a sign on the wall?
If not this messages is good for others who run into the same problem.

I did used MBR partition so PScheck would work, with the clean install i used GPT. Maybe a bad shutdown in combination of that latest windows build with MBR partition?

I'm now 30 reboots further and everything is still running smooth.
So it looks like that EC flash memory error is something you also get when windows boot manager is corrupted.

I ran into a big problem.

I shut down my pc like normal, the only other thing was i did it from inside steam big picture.

I'm on WIN 10 build 10162 with sig rig 'AMD beast.'
MOBO: Sabertooth 990FX rev 1

Upon boot i got this error:
"The data in the EC or EC flash might be corrupted. Please contact ASUS Technical Support. for help. System Will Shut Down After 15 Seconds."

I did a search but my problem is different from the one i found, because i can do a successful CMOS reset and then I don't get the error message.
So i then can set settings, save them and boot into windows.
Then the weirdness: — Reboot is no problem, But if i do shutdown and start again (cold boot) i get the error message again.

I thought this was maybe because my battery died so i replaced it with a new one. This didn't help.
Also tried reflashing the BIOS 3 times, didn't do anything.
Also tried running stock speeds and clock. My GPU still has a custom bios. Schould i flash the original back?
Could it be that i got a strange software error which corrupted the bios. Or is the bios chip just going dead?

All suggestions are welcome!
If the problem is still there i will contact asus and see what they have to say about it.
I'm very disappointed, i hope the 5 years warrenty also counts for this.

EDIT: flashed GPU bios back just to rule that out, didn't help.
The strange thing about this problem is that the clear cmos works for one boot or continuius restarts. It is when i shut down and want to boot again that error message pops up again. So there is something corrupting it up time after time?
heat problem? That makes the chip lose data? It is 34 °C in my room today, exceptionaly hot compaired to normal temps.

CMOS failure — Asus P8Z68-V LX

Checking online, I found clearing CMOS could do the trick. So I did. Now, the machine is dead and non-responsive. Bummer.

I found some CMOS chips online for around $13. I ordered two. Not sure when they are going to get here. I have a spare ASUS P8Z77-V LK that appears to have the same CMOS chip on board. I know this one works. I am checking BIOS updates at the moment to compare versions to have a better idea if a swap would work.

Anyone played with something like this? I’ve swapped chips before but never CMOS. This could be an interesting learning experience. As it is now, I am facing a complete board change which I am not thrilled about. That likely means a reinstall of Win 7 and all of my other progs. I really don’t want to do that.

The data in the ec or ec flash might be corrupted asus как исправить

PC is about 10 years old with some gradual upgrades:

Mobo: m5a99x EVO R2.0RAM: 4stick Aries 4GB (16GB ddr3)GPU: GTX 1060PSU: 650WCPU: AMD FX8350

I have built a new PC since I last used this one with said problem, so it has been sitting in the corner for about 3 months, which it never has done before. All was working fine for a few days until suddenly the screens go black, fans still spinning, lights still on, case's power button does not function, solid red CPU light. Shutting down through PSU is the only option. Upon rebooting, all fans are spinning and all lights are on as normal until the American Megatrends screen displays "EC or EC flash might be corrupted. Shutting down in 15 seconds." Then it turns off completely.

I've tried reseating every component, re-plugging major cables. Temps on all components are normal. I thought updating the BIOS would be a solution but there is only one version (2501).

I've searched the internet and the only solution that shows results is resetting the CMOS by removing the battery for X amount of time and putting it back then booting up. I spam this method until it works again. Usually leaving the battery out overnight yields the highest chances for the machine to get onto the ASUS screen where I can boot up from BIOS and the computer acts normal again for about 2 days. The problem shows up again after long stints of actively using the computer (4-7hours), where the computer shuts down no matter what program is running (temps are normal). It's very confusing because nothing is consistent and it seems that no one online has experienced my situation of intermittent functionality.

Just today I figured replacing the battery would be a surefire fix but I was wrong. It's acting the same.
